Veterinarians
Dr. Leonard Fox
Veterinarian
Dr. Fox has owned the Animal Hospital of West Port St. Lucie for many years, and is now semi-retired. While he still consults on some cases, but now mostly enjoys his time with his family and on the water. He also spends time on the Board of Director’s for the Humane Society of St. Lucie County as well as Treasure Coast Wildlife. Dr. Fox is known in the community as a compassionate, knowledgeable veterinarian who has earned the respect of his clients and has been a pillar of generosity to the local community. He is looking forward to his daughter graduating Veterinary School and joining the team at the hospital!
Dr. Melissa Fox
Veterinarian
Daughter of Dr. Fox, a 2024 graduate of St. George’s University of Veterinary Medicine will be joining the practice in the spring of 2025. We look forward to her experience and knowledge. In her down time, now that school is over, she enjoys fishing, snorkeling and diving. She is also a model for SaltLife and has her own YouTube Station.
Dr. Tiffany Schmidt
Veterinarian
Dr. Schmidt offers many years of experience to our hospital and has a passion for holistic, alternative methods of veterinary medicine such as acupuncture and cold laser therapy. A talented surgeon offering the practice her skilled perfection for lumpectomies, spays, neuters, c-sections, and more. On her down time, she enjoys the beach, horses and all of her personal fur-babies!
Lori
Practice Manager
My name is Lori, and I have had the privilege of managing the Animal Hospital since 2019. This role marked a significant career transition for me, and I am grateful to Dr. Fox and Dr. Schmidt for their guidance in navigating the complexities of veterinary care while leveraging my experience from the hospitality industry. We pride ourselves on running a successful caregiving facility that prioritizes empathy and compassion for both our clients and their beloved pets. Outside of managing the hospital, I enjoy fostering stray kittens for the city and have recently begun caring for orphaned squirrels and bunnies under Dr. Fox’s mentorship. As a mother of four and soon-to-be grandmother of one, I have a profound love for animals, with too many pets to name. In my leisure time, I enjoy fishing, visiting the beach, watching crime dramas, and engaging in repair projects.

Veterinary Team
Dom
My name is Dom, I started working with animals in 2001 as a kennel technician. By 2022 I was promoted to a vet tech and have been doing it ever since. I have dogs, cats, and reptiles. This is the only type of work that I could ever do.
Brandi
Veterinary Technician
My name is Dyson and I am a 5-year-old Dashhound. My mommy is Brandi. She’s been taking care of all kinds of critters for much longer than I have been alive. What I can say about her is that she is a great caregiver and she is passionate about caring for all animals big and small. For example, besides my 3 older brothers, I also have 2 very sweet sisters who are Rats. Just recently, Mom got me 3 little fish friends that I love to watch. Mommy also likes taking us for rides, as I get to meet a lot of people. I just love her! She gives me the best kisses and always tells me how handsome I am.
Miranda
Receptionist
Hey there! I’m Miranda, a 22-year-old veterinary receptionist who’s totally head over heels for furry friends and their humans! Growing up, my house always had one or two animals in it, and now I get to work in my dream job. When I’m not cuddling critters, you can find me doodling or inking some cool tattoos for kicks. So, bring on the fur babies—let’s have a paw-some time!
Jada
Greetings! I am Jada, a devoted receptionist. My journey with pets began at the tender age of five, and I’ve been nurturing them since 2018. My own furry companion, Onyx, a spirited two-year-old Staffordshire terrier, fills my days with boundless energy and keeps me ever-alert! Beyond my cherished role as a pet caregiver, I delight in watching anime, crafting pottery, and immersing myself in the world of console gaming.
Christian
I have been in the veterinary industry for 5 years and love every minute. I am a proud husband, and the father of two children a boy and a girl, and we look forward to adding another boy shortly. Besides caring for pets, I enjoy boxing and playing with my kids.
Lauren
I have been working with animals since I was 16. I have four animals at home, three dogs and a sweet cat. My favorite dog breed is a Boxer and my favorite cat breed is a Ragdoll. I love working with animals and couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.
